Each year we welcome guest teachers from around the world to provide teaching in complimentary skills within specific areas of artistic work. Here a just a few of the practitioners that have visited us.

  • Jos Houben

    Pedagog - Art of Laughter
    About:

    Jos is a celebrated actor, writer, director, teacher, and a leading expert in the art of physical comedy. He was an original member of Complicité, with whom he co-created and performed the production, 'A Minute Too Late', which in 1985 transformed the theatrical landscape in the United Kingdom. During the mid nineties he wrote for and directed the absurd cult-comedy shows of the 'The Right Size' (Two Laurence Olivier Awards: Best Entertainment, 1999 and Best New Comedy, 2002) and ended up playing on Broadway and London’s West End. He is an actor in a compilation of short Samuel Beckett pieces, 'Fragments', directed by Peter Brook. Since 2003 her travels all over the world with his celebrated one-man show/masterclass, 'The Art Of Laughter', which he performed at our school in May 2022. He has been teaching at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris since 2000 and is a regular visiting teacher at our school.

  • Pascale Lecoq

    Pedagog - LEM
    About:

    Pascale has been the director of the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris since 2012. She is the pedagogical leader of the LEM (Laboratory of Movement Study) education at the Lecoq school having been a researcher in the course for over 30 years. She is originally a state-certified architect and has worked as a stage designer and international workshop leader. Via Pascale, we maintain a strong collaboration with the Lecoq school where Pascale is invited to work with our students on the movement study of abstract space, forms, architecture and colours.

  • Line Verndal

    Pedagog - Acting for Camera
    About:

    Line is an award winning actor, TV-host and pedagog based in Oslo. She has worked on many theatre production, but is mostly known for her appearances on film and TV. In 2011 she won the «Amanda» award for best actress in a leading role for the film «Limbo» and has been nominated for the «Gullruten» three years in a row for the lead role of Marit in the NRK series «Himmelblå». She has also been the main host in TV-programs like «Lines gode helpere» and three seasons of «Hele Norge Baker». In later years, she been to see in the tv series «Aber, Bergen», «Nissene på låven», «Nissen over skog og hei», and «Nissene I bingen», the Netflix series «Ragnarok», «Hjem til jul» and «Julestorm», the feature film «Jentetur» and the swedish film on Viaplay called «Täck for senast». She also has a podcast show «Line snakker med noen»

  • Fredrik Høyer

    Pedagog - Writing Worshop
    About:

    Fredrik is a known performance poet, writer and stage artist based in Oslo. He has a fascination for rap, hip-hop and jazz poetry and is a regular contributor to the program 'Salongen' on the radio channel P2. He regularly comes to teach his workshops in creative writing with our students.

  • Simon T. Rann

    Pedagog & Director
    About:

    Simon is an international performer, puppeteer, director and teacher based in France where he now runs his own theatre company. He originally comes from Australia where he trained as a dancer before transitioning to theatre and puppetry and became a long term member of the Philippe Genty Theatre Company. Simon regularly teaches our students in visual theatre and performance with objects. During the pandemic, Simon worked with our final year students from kull 11 on their final project directing series of experimental films devised by the students.

  • Malin B. Erikson

    Intimacy Co-ordinator
    About:

    Malin has worked as a stage director, actor trainer and acting coach. She is a qualified and SAG-AFTRA recognised intimacy coordinator who introduced intimacy coordination to Sweden in 2019 as the country’s first intimacy coordinator / intimacy director. She’s a specialist in choreographing intimate scenes for TV, film and live performance while implementing best practices, safety and well-being of actors, creatives and team. Malin is the co-founder of the Nordic Intimacy Coordinators (NIC) and The Intimacy Practitioners’ Guild (IPG).

  • Marcello Magni

    Pedagog - Commedia Dell'Arte
    About:

    Marcello is one of the founding members of the world renowned theatre company, Complicité, and has been a regular actor for Peter Brook in Paris, Shakespeare's Globe in London among many other countless productions. He trained at École Jacques Lecoq during the early 1980's and has become a recognised actor and veteran of the British and international theatre scene. Marcello was a guest teacher at our school and taught our second year students in acting, improvisation and Commedia Dell'Arte.

    Marcello sadly passed away in 2022.
  • Marine Benech

    Pedagog - Theatre Clowning
    About:

    Marine is an international actor, director and teacher based in Paris where she trained with Jacques Lecoq during 1991-1993. Alongside her theatrical work, she has long experience working as a hospital clown for the French organisation 'Le Rire Medecin'. She also trains actors at the School for Hospital Clowns in France and often tours to other countries to give workshops for similar organisations.

  • Deb Pugh

    Movement Director
    About:

    Deb is an actor, creator and movement director from the UK. She graduated from École Jacques Lecoq in 2007 and has been core member of Theatre Ad Infinitum ever since. She worked as a Movement Director at our school in two final year productions with our 3rd year students in 2019. Her solo performance of "Beautiful Evil Things" which explores the female within the Greek myths has been received with great critical acclaim.

  • Philippe Genty

    Director
    About:

    Philippe is the founder and Director of the world renowned Philippe Genty Theatre Company based in France. Philippe came to our school to create and direct a final year production with our students called "Ne M'Oublie Pas", aka "Forget Me Not". The production later went on to tour around the world to great critical acclaim.

  • Theatre Ad Infinitum

    Devising Theatre Company
    About:

    Theatre Ad Infinitum are an International award-winning theatre company based in the UK. The company is lead by co-artistic directors, George Mann and Nir Paldi who both graduated from École Jacques Lecoq in 2006 & 2007. In collaboration with Nord Dramatic Arts, they co-devised and directed two final year productions together with our 3rd year students (kull 10) in 2019.

  • Wakka Wakka Productions

    Devising Theatre Company
    About:

    Wakka Wakka is an international award-winning theatre company based in NYC and Oslo. The company is led by Kirjan Waage and Gwendolyn Warnock who graduated from École Jacques Lecoq in 2001. Their productions are highly physical and incorporate elements such as puppetry, object manipulation, masks and original music. As part of their trilogy project, "ANIMALIA", which includes the productions, "Animal Riot" and "The Immortal Jellyfish Girl", the final instalment will be produced in collaboration with Nord Dramatic Arts and Figurteatret I Nordland. This production is called "Day of the Dead Animals" and will be co-devised and performed together with our 3rd year students (kull 14) under the direction of Wakka Wakka.
